Local Church

The Presbyterian Church of NSW has a specific polity which comprises Eldership at the local church level. The Eldership of each church takes responsibility for its’ spiritual oversight, vision setting and ministry work. In this way, the Eldership takes responsibility for all ministry areas of the church, including ministry by women and to women.

The Eldership thus has a key role in the establishment and ongoing support of women’s ministry at the local church level.

Practical, initial steps would involve the Eldership inviting key women from the church to share their ideas about women’s ministry at session. A Biblical, healthy and sustainable women’s ministry will be best established and maintained through good communication and ongoing consultation between the Eldership and women’s ministry leaders of the church.
